With home prices in America lower than they’ve been in 10 years, it’s definitely safe to say that 2012 is a perfect year to buy a home.

Yet, the home prices in these rebounding American markets pale in comparison to some of the most expensive homes around the world.

While entertainer Mariah Carey’s $125,000,000 California mansion represents America on the list of “20 of the world’s most expensive homes,” there are homes on this list from ritzy regions all over world.

The Bubble Hotel in France

Sleep under the stars without the fear of getting gobbled up by a bear or infested with creepy crawlies at the Attrap Rêves in Marseille, France. Small bubbles are designed by designer Pierre-Stephane Dumas, they allow you to stay in the room, but at the same time as though and in the open air.

The bubbles are small and cozy, about 13 feet in diameter. Some are fully transparent, while others allow a little more privacy and are half opaque. Staying the night in a bubble will cost you upwards of 109 euros, while tasty meals are provided at the nearby lodge-style restaurant.

Monstrum believes that playground design should be a reflection of the world surrounding us. We see the world as a place full of color. We meet boys that like pink and girls that likes trees, so why only play on a monkey frame and a sandbox, when you can play in a moon crater or a submarine or a giant spider or an enormous snail or a Trojans horse or a rocket or an ant or a princess castle. The fantasy is infinite. The visual effect can indulge from a far, a tall slide, a massive tower or a wave to play on can draw kids in from the street.
